About
I’ve worked for various media outlets, including the Orlando Sentinel, CNN and Everyblock.com. I was a graduate student at Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism in Chicago, receiving a master’s degree in June 2008. My concentration was new media and learning alternative and innovative ways to present news and information to the public. Before coming to Medill, I attended Boston University and received a bachelor’s degree in journalism, with a concentration in magazine journalism. I’ve interned for the London bureau of CBS News, Working Mother Magazine, and the Columbia Journalism Review. I recently completed a master’s fellowship in CNN’s Washington DC bureau.
My work has appeared in Chicago-area newspapers such as the Chicago Defender, the Chicago Journal, Austin Weekly News and the Northwest Indiana Times. I hope to some day own a media company that uses innovative approaches, online and in print, to target and present information to people whose stories aren’t told often in the mainstream media.
